My truest break-up-related advice isn't "Time heals all wounds" or "You had some good times together" or "You deserve better" or even "Honestly, I never liked the bitch/bastard/loser." It's this: "If you can get all the way through a Cure album without bursting into tears, you're over it." It's a "Pictures of You" litmus test.
Well, it's been many months since I've cried while listening to the Cure.
But I still get all misty-eyed when I listen to Tom Waits.
Which is good: if anyone can listen to him without sniffling, they're probably dead.
