Ghost twin
◊ When I was about 15, my mom and I were going somewhere in the smelly family minivan. Out of nowhere, my mom turned to me and said "Did you know you had a twin?"
Apparently something went wrong with one fetus while I (we?) was (were?) in utero, and the doctors wanted to abort both of them (including me). My mom fought hard to keep the other one (me), even though they kept telling her there was no way it would survive.
And here I am.
It makes for a much better guilt trip than "I was in labor for X hours of agony..."
